WHY DO WE GIVE?

The first reason we give is because here at Cottonwood Assembly we believe that WE CAN'T OUT-GIVE GOD. One of the many verses in the Bible on giving is found in Proverbs 3: 9-10 “Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the first fruits of all your produce; then your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will be bursting with wine.” In other words what God is saying is that it is impossible out give Him. When we give to God, God always gives us back even more.  

The second reason we give is because GOD GAVE. The most popular verse in Bible says “For God so loved the world that he gave His only son.” God gave His son and Jesus gave His life. Through Christ, God has given us an abundant life on this earth and eternal life in Heaven. God is a giver. If we are going to become more like God, if we are going to become more like Jesus, then we are going to  have to become givers and not takers. 

We give because we believe that we cannot out give God and because God gave too!
